Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, where lush rainforests meet pristine beaches and diverse wildlife thrives. You will be able to immerse yourselves in nature, indulge in local cuisine, and soak up the sun.
Day 1 – Manuel Antonio National Park
This is the smallest national park in Costa Rica, but it certainly is not lacking! You will find 184 species of birds and 100 mammals. Manuel Antonio National Park is open from 7:00 – 4:00 daily with the exception of Tuesdays. You can choose to explore the park on your own or with a guide. I recommend going on a guided tour. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge. The types of food/drinks allowed into the park are extremely limited. Single use plastic is not allowed into the park. When visiting, watch out for the White-faced Capuchin monkeys! They will group up and try to steal your belongings. The park has a beautiful beach so make sure to bring your swimsuit and towel. There is a changing house available at the beach.
Day 2 – Waterfall Tour
The waterfall tour in Manuel Antonio is an exhilarating adventure that unveils the natural beauty of this tropical paradise. While on the bus, the tour guides share insights about the ecosystem and the history of the area. You will explore three different areas in South Manuel Antonio. Each waterfall has a swimming hole where you can choose to jump from the top of the waterfalls or relax. The third waterfall offers a 20-feet natural slide! This tour is the perfect opportunity to connect with nature and relish the serene ambiance of Costa Rica’s breathtaking landscapes.
Day 3 – Relaxation
Use your final day at Manuel Antonio to relax and truly take in the beauty of the area. Check out the beaches where you are sure to spot coral that has washed up on the beach. Visit the nearby villages, explore the artisan markets and learn about traditional Costa Rican crafts. Or simply sip some beverages at your hotel pool and take in the beauty of the Pacific Ocean.
