Worlds End State Park is located in Sullivan County.  It is a smaller state park as it only encompasses 780 miles, but you definitely will not be disappointed with all the park has to offer! Here are 10 things you can do while visiting Worlds End State Park<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camping<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Worlds End State Park offers a nice campground.  There are 70 tent and RV sites, along with 19 rustic cabins available.  The campground has bathrooms and shower houses.  The cabins are equipped with a refrigerator, stove, fireplace insert, table, chairs, and beds.  If you are looking to bring your pups with you, there are designated sites for pets and also two of the cabins allow them.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors Center<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stopping by the visitors’ center is a must when visiting Worlds End State Park.  The visitor center was built using recycled materials.  Materials include tile made from recycled aviation glass, recycled carpet and linoleum, recycled steel studding, and recycled cement board for the siding and trim.  Its design also included energy efficiency.  The building has a ground source geothermal heating system, as well as photocells and occupancy sensors so that electricity is not wasted.  The visitors center offers a wealth of knowledge around the park\u2019s history.  It also offers park programs and environmental education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Double Run Nature Trail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is a 2-mile loop trail with a little over 300 feet elevation gain.\u00a0 This is a gorgeous hike along with the run that features several waterfalls, including Cottonwood Falls.\u00a0 If you are looking to check out the falls without doing the entire loop, you can turn right when the trail splits.\u00a0 It will be about \u00bd mile out and this section of the trail is relatively flat.\u00a0 Check out Alltrails<\/a> to get directions to the trail head!<\/p>\n\n\n

Canyon Vista Trail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Canyon Vista Trail is a 3.9-mile loop with about 750 feet in elevation gain.  The trail leads you to Canyon Vista.  Canyon Vista offers a view of the Loyalsock Creek 1750 feet below.  You can also reach the vista via car but note that the road is a narrow winding dirt road alongside a steep hillside.<\/p>\n\n\n

Loyalsock Trail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Loyalsock Trail is a 56.4-mile point to point trail.  The elevation gain is approximately 10,450 feet.  If you are looking to do some backpacking, this is a great trail to do it.  The trail offers over a dozen waterfalls.  The trail can be completed in about 4-6 days.  Check out Alltrails<\/a> to preview the trail!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sones Pond<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sones Pond is known for its great fishing.  You can reach the pond either via the Loyalsock Trail or by car.  The pond is approximately 13 square acres.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mineral Springs Fall<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mineral Springs Fall is a waterfall located right off of the road near Worlds End Vista.  It is located about 100 feet from the road and is approximately 12-15 feet.  The best time to view this waterfall is in the spring or after a hard rain.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cold Run Trail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Cold Run Trail is a 1.5-mile extension of the Canyon Vista Trail.  You will find a scenic overlook and some small waterfalls along this trail.  The trail ventures through rocks and under a boulder arch.  <\/p>\n\n\n

Forksville General Store and Restaurant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After a day of burning energy hiking, refuel at the Forksville General Store and Restaurant.  They have the reputation for having some of the best philly style cheesesteaks in Pennsylvania!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swim<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Take an invigorating swim at the small beach at Worlds End State Park.  The water is always cold, so it is a great way to cool off after a hot day of hiking.  The beach is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
